This video continues our down south journey in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰
Starting from my grandmother’s house, we travel along the beautiful southern coast exploring nature, wildlife, and history.
First, we visited a Sea Turtle Sanctuary in Wellabada, where conservation efforts help protect endangered sea turtles and release hatchlings safely back to the ocean. Sea turtles are an important part of the marine ecosystem but many species are now endangered due to human activity.
Then we stopped by a small dam built along the sea, enjoying the peaceful coastal scenery.
Finally, we reached Galle Fort, one of Sri Lanka’s most famous historical sites and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The fort was originally built by the Portuguese in the 16th century and later expanded by the Dutch, becoming one of the best preserved colonial forts in Asia.
The evening atmosphere at Galle Fort with ocean views and historic streets made the perfect ending to this coastal journey.
