A Delta flight from Atlanta to Columbia, South Carolina on Monday morning returned to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport because of what the airline termed as a "haze inside the aircraft."
"The flight crew followed procedures to return to Atlanta when a haze inside the aircraft was observed after departure," a statement from Delta on flight DL876 said. "Nothing is more important than the safety of our customers and people, and we apologize to our customers for the experience."
