Fossil Fuels and Foreign Power

From May to mid-September, I only managed to get out a handful of times to see what CSX had to offer along the Abbeville Subdivision. Despite the low number of outings, I came away with quite a few cool captures of foreign power, home road EMDs, and the usual GE-dominated trains we've grown so accustomed to.
At the time of posting (10/3/25), the CSX Blue Ridge Subdivision (the Clinchfield), has been reopened after extensive damage was done last fall by Hurricane Helene. Crews had been hard at work for over a year repairing the line, and with the reopening comes a decrease in freight traffic for the Abbeville. All the ethanol trains and many of the grain and coal trains seen over the past year will now return to a more direct route into North Carolina via the Clinchfield. While great news for the crew members and their families (and railfans) along that route, but bittersweet news for the crews and train fans of the Abbeville Sub.
If you enjoy what you see, please be sure to leave a like, comment, and subscribe for more railroad content. Thank you all for watching!
