India - Tobacco Victim's Advocacy Film (Hindi)

Описание: This four minute film presents the sufferings of tobacco victims and their families in India, told through their own stories and eyes. The sufferings from tobacco use are manifold, caused in India from the use of bidis, cigarettes, smokeless tobacco, or through inhaled tobacco smoke. Tobacco use and exposure not only causes terrible disease, but it also creates a poverty trap resulting from the high health care costs and loss of livelihoods associated with tobacco-related illness. The repercussions are felt not only by the tobacco user but also by their families. Realization of the high cost from using tobacco often comes too late.

This film is a plea from the victims to its viewers to prevent further tragedies — by quitting/avoiding tobacco use, implementing strong tobacco control laws, and supporting initiatives to eliminate tobacco use.

The film is intended for use in trainings, workshops, and other sessions. This project was the result of a close collaboration with Voice of Tobacco Victims and Bloomberg partners, in particular CTFK. Currently in Hindi, this film will soon be available in English, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Gujarati, Urdu and Assamese languages. The film can be made available in broadcast quality upon request.
