The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) 13 Agriculture, Aquaculture, and Fishing Sector Standard for Sustainability Reporting was launched in Lagos, Nigeria, in a forum hosted by the Lagos Business School Sustainability Centre and GRI Africa Office on November 30, 2023.
This reporting standard aims to boost responsibility and accountability in organisations with material topics related to crop production, animal production, aquaculture, and fishing. The Reporting Standard spans 26 material topics, such as climate and environment, farming and fishing practices, and ethics and governance, all influenced by international instruments. GRI 13 AAF also seeks to elevate the quality, consistency, and completeness of sustainability reporting, benefiting stakeholders across the agricultural value chain, like investors, regulators, business partners, and consumers.
