Each week I feature a second-hand car I’d consider buying — and this week’s pick is a 2007 Subaru Forester 2.5X Auto listed at R65,900 on WeBuyCars. Clean inside and out, full service history, and just one minor issue noted on the Dekra report? Sounds promising… but let’s dig deeper.

🚗 Why I Picked This Car:
I’ve always wanted a Subaru — these are known for crazy reliability and capable 4WD. Sure, boxer engines can be a pain to work on, but this one looks well cared for.

🛠️ Dekra Report Highlights:
✅ Full service history
✅ Only issue: LF lower ball joint boot (cheap fix)
❌ Axle/suspension marked “poor” due to that ball joint
✅ Engine, drivetrain, and body rated “good” to “very good”

📸 Condition & Concerns:
• Clean interior and bumpers
• Left front door looks like it might have been replaced — worth asking

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Who is this car for?
A solid option for families, light gravel adventures, or someone who wants a quirky, reliable daily. Not the most economical, but definitely more fun than your average SUV.

💸 Price Thoughts:
It sat at R70k for a while — I think the auto gearbox, high mileage, and Subaru badge scared some folks off. But if I’d sold my Merc, I’d seriously consider this one.
