On a 3-day visit to the United States, PM Modi met Vivek Lall, CEO of General Atomics. The meeting was held In the backdrop of India acquiring 30 Predator drones from US. The Predator MQ-9B system that India wants to procure is made by the San Diego-based General Atomics.
India has signed a contract to procure 30 MQ-9B drones and has ordered10 UAVs for each service to be assigned to the Indian Navy, Army and Air Force. The tri-services contract for 30 MQ-9B SeaGuardian drones is worth a whopping $3 billion.
