For many, the idea of working in areas with radiation sounds far-fetched and dangerous. Learn how employees with the Office of Environmental Management (EM) and its contractors stay safe as they conduct some of the most challenging and sensitive work in the nation.
EM and its contractors use state-of-the-art equipment and advanced training to make sure workers go home to their families just as healthy as when they clocked in…special clothing, virtual reality, and sensitive detection equipment to name a few. New technology is also underway that lets employees wear a visor that shows where radiation is in a cleanup area.
