Judge dismisses murder case against Utah teen citing self-defense, lack of evidence

Описание: A teenage boy has been freed from prison and the threat of prosecution for murder after a judge dismissed the case with prejudice.

The Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office charged then-14-year-old Emiliano with murder.

The District Attorney’s Office and District Attorney Sim Gill were disqualified from the case in May after a series of 2News Investigations. The judge then assigned a special prosecutor from the Utah Attorney General’s Office to take over.

In the monumental decision, the judge ruled the case cannot be refiled.
