After exploring Balthazar's room in Moonrise Towers, Gale and Tav find the necromancer's secret workshop hidden behind a bookshelf. Inside the workshop, Gale finds the remains of a ritual circle emitting shadow magic. He dispels the magic and then receives a surprise blessing from Mystra herself.
(In this video, I combined Gale's dialogue from Tav's 3 responses -- "Is it dangerous?", "What is its purpose?", "Let me deal with the circle". But other responses follow in the normal order of the conversation.)
Gale's background as a Sage gives him 2 separate points of inspiration for finding Balthazar's secret workshop: "Secrets of the Necromancer" and "A Little Too Familiar with the Grotesque..."
Here are the steps to find this hidden room:
1. grab a heart (there's one on a table near the bookshelf)
2. interact with the row of books labelled "Musty Tomes" (be careful interacting with any others, because its full of traps)
3. After you hear a click, insert the heart in the Ancient Alter to the right of the bookshop
4. The secret room will be revealed 🔮
