Although Covid figures are continuing to fall across the UK there are still patients left fighting for their lives. Those who were worst affected, who couldn't even be helped by ventilators, are on ECMO machines, which take over the work of their hearts and lungs. (Subscribe: https://bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)
Last year, we spent the day on the ECMO unit at London's Royal Brompton Hospital. We have gone back there to talk to the staff who have used photography to cope with the stress of the pandemic, and to meet one patient who has survived against all the odds.
