Music @ The Royal London Hospital - Georgy Ugbomah coaxes relaxing music from the piano in the foyer

Описание: Since his visit to play in the hospital in September 2024, Georgy Ugbomah has graduated from the London College of Music - and also got married - so it was a special pleasure to welcome him back and to hear his wonderfully fluid and relaxing musical improvisations echoing around the foyer once again.

Largely self-taught, and having a really original and inventive playing style, Georgy's music is particularly suitable for this busy venue, and he was rewarded with several smiles and positive expressions of appreciation and thanks for the lovely music he performed. Here is a recorded example that clearly demonstrates his intuitive skills.

Some of his phrasing, melodies and key modulations bring to mind features of the works of the classical greats, such as Chopin and Liszt; but then subtle shifts and embellishments remind us that Georgy's work is entirely original and uniquely in his own style. It certainly makes for very soothing listening - very suitable to counter the busy comings and goings of the hospital setting. Many listeners clearly found Georgy's music enchanting to listen to.
