In 1954, Leyland, in an effort to manufacture a bus that can be sold anywhere in the world, developed the Royal Tiger Worldmaster.
The bus came in no less than 11 variations, and was sold on nearly every continent, except North America (and perhaps Antarctica). Very few were actually sold in the UK, its home market.
Approximately 20,000 Worldmasters were built, with a dizzying array of bodywork, many produced locally. Israel was its largest market with about 5,000 units.
There were also non-bus variants of the Worldmaster, such as the Firemaster and a car transporter.
