🔊 Sound Test - 🔥Yamaha YAS 109 vs 🔥 JBL bar 2.1 Sound bar. 🎧 Earphones recommended.

Описание: Yamaha Soundbar Yas 109 review in my opinion :

🤏 I had very high hopes from this product and shortlisted it based upon various online reviews & brand reputation. Inspired by friends JBL 2.1 bar , i purchased it from amazon.

👉In most reviews ,YAS 209 was ranked almost always among top 5 & YAS 109 in budget bars,i thought both YAS 109 and 209 sound quality would be more or less similar except the woofer difference & additional 80 watts extra power in 209.

👎 However in reality , i was all wrong & YAS 109 is not very impressive worth its price.

🔹️It sounds crisp and clear in most vocals ( unless using virtual surround ) and supports multiple audio formats like Dolby audio, DTS digital surround & DTS virtual X but still, nothing very effective.

🔹️I compared it One on One, to JBL bar 2.1 300 watt sound bar, and believe me in movies particularly, every single note right from clinking of bangles to murmur of dinosaurs were so much pronounced & clear in jbl, a huge difference.

Needless to say its punchy sound throw, pleasant sound staging, distinguishable stereo effect and excellent punchy bass were far superior to yamaha.

🔹️Even if we ignore the bass component , still 120 Watt power of this Yamaha 109, falls short of might, to provide an impressive sound stage and overall stereo or the virtual surround.

❗So i suppose one should never ignore the wattage when buying a soundbar, higher the better. Go beyond 300 watts at least.

🔹️Virtual Surround feature adds some artificial luster to the audio but feels very artificial , scrambled & forcibly imposed with just occasional surround feel , a car racing over track in movies like Rush , Ford vs Ferrari is a classic example but in yamaha its just like TV sound enhanced and clearer nothing more.... regarding vertical throw and immersive feel , its not present even in traces.

🔹️I previously struck out most of the systems due to the attached wire clutter & high reputation of Yamaha but now, i seriously regret it.

❗ What's most Disturbing is the Fact , that this system just has a very thin black canvas fabric cover over the speakers and no metal mesh to protect it from any impact damage.

That fabric in due course attracts dust and you need to be careful , not to tear the fabric while cleaning, handling or de -dusting.

🔹️So even if a small ball hits it or a pencil finds a way into it by mistake , the system is all gone.

👎Not at all suitable for a home with little kids.

👎Looks stupid in looks too.

👎In one case if you do not use it for a while , it goes in such a deep sleep state that you need to power off the TV as well as sound bar for few minutes to get it working again.

✅ In fact , always choose a 3.1 or above system with dedicated center , left and light speakers to get an impressive stereo or sound separation.

The longer the bar & extra number of driver speakers , the better.

So to sum up, yamaha's pros & cons :

Pros :

👍 Compact all in one design with no wire clutter, if you demand a simple sound enhancement.

👍Mostly Clean & crisp mids & vocals even at near full sound.

👍 Many audio formats are supported like dolby audio, dts surround & dts virtual x.

👍 Alexa & spotify built in.

👍 Included optical cable is good.

👍 4k Hdr passthrough is available.

👍 Clear voice is helpful but loses all the magic.

👍 Plenty of ports 1 hdmi In, 1 hdmi out , 1 ethernet , 1 optical, 1 subwoofer output for additional woofer connection.

Cons:

👎 Very delicate construction with no metal protection mesh over speakers.

👎 Odd rounded shape with no appeal of a premium product.

👎 Ineffective artificial surround & no immersion effect.

👎 Strangled Throw of voice , the punch required for movies & sound staging in lossless audios is not very impressive - not in league with JBL or sony .
120 watt & inbuilt woofer fall too short, i suppose.

👎 Stereo or channel separation effect was never experienced in this one.
Stereo function in remote is useless, only one mode-movies mode is attractive, rest Music , games, sports etc. are just minor variations.

👎 Bass is no match to systems with external subwoofer, no punch & no thrill to watch movies.

Extended bass option just makes voice worse & blurred so no use.

👎 Remote has different coin type battery & not commonly available AAA batteries.

👎 Very tiny status leds over bar , which are almost non existent & cannot be identified clearly even from nearby.

🎯 So all in all, i realized that no matter how strong the brand reputation is ..for proper surround & stereo, the bar should be quite long with plenty of speaker drivers & possibly some speakers with a vertical throw.

Center , left and right speakers in 3.1 or higher systems is a must for quality feel.

☝️I think I should have gone for Samsung HW 60,70 QT with 9drivers ,or sony 5.1 HT RF500 and a wireless subwoofer or maybe JBL 2.1,3.1,5.1 but never this.

I have ordered JBL bar 5.1 as of now.
