Winter time is editing time.
I am now starting to work on my oldest footages, starting in 1993, using Hi8 analogue tapes, partly heavily damaged. Quality is partially horrible and editing and scene cutting this material is a true nightmare. Nevertheless it is worth its while taking all the trouble to save these memories for the future.

I was living from 1994-1998 in South Korea and I was frequently shuttling between Seoul and Tokyo on duty. Among these countless flights are also those to be considered historic from the viewpoint of the year 2017. In the 90s however there was nothing special to fly onboard a classic B 747 or a DC-10.

The following footage is of horrible quality. Tape and camera and battery problems and bad camera focus. I do not really care about the ratings of my videos. Publishing these historic footages is my mission in the first place.

This inflight video features a flight onboard United Airlines classic DC-10-30 N1854U from Seoul (SEL) to Tokyo (NRT) back in 1996, 21 years ago.

History of United Airlines DC-10-30 N1854U

Airframe 47813 was manufactured 1979 and delivered to Laker Airways, registered G-BGXG, March 24, 1980. G-BGXG was sold to United Airlines and registered N1854U, September 21, 1984. N1854U was sold to Federal Express and registered N326FE, March 23, 2001. N326FE was sold to Logistic Air, June 24, 2008 and is reported stored after April 2009 and broken up.
