For the safe and exact inspection of hange cables in suspension bridge, the robot has been developed. This is the first version of MRC^2IN series.
The robot climbs on the cable instead of workers and is tele-operated. The captured video is transmitted wirelessly and it is used for the visual inspection. The robot can transport payloads up to 9Kg, it means that the additional inspection tools like a NDE device or maintenance tools can be loaded on the robot. Since the robot has a safe-landing mechanism, it is possible to climb down automatically without any power when the power is suspended.
