चौमासी से केदार यात्रा खाम बुग्याल से आगे शुरू होती है।खाम बुग्याल से आगे करीब 6 किमी तक बुग्याल में ही चलना होता है।खाम गंगा के किनारे होते हुए इस ट्रैक की सबसे ऊँचाई का पॉइंट हथनी कॉल आती है जो समुद्र तल से करीब 4400 मीटर की ऊँचाई पर स्थित है।हथनी टॉप से पूरी केदारघाटी का सुंदर नजारा दिखाई देता है।इस इलाके में ब्रम्हकमल पाए जाते है।बड़े बड़े बोल्डर से यह पूरा इलाका पटा हुआ है।यहाँ से केदारडोम,मेरु,सुमेरु, केदारनाथ पीक सहित चोराबाड़ी और कंपेनियन ग्लेशियर दिखाई देते है।हथनी टॉप से केदारघाटी के मधु गंगा और दूध गंगा के पूरे कैचमेंट भी दिखाई देता है।

चौमासी से केदार का ट्रैक करने से पहले आप एक गाइड जरूर कर लें।जुलाई और अगस्त में यह यात्रा करने से बचे।क्योंकि खाम बुग्याल तक तो ट्रेक पता चल जाता है लेकिन उसके बाद ट्रैक नही है और घास को पकड़ पकड़ कर चढ़ाई करनी पड़ती है।ऐसे में बारिश हुई तो मुश्किलें बढ़ जाती है।खाम बुग्याल से ही एक ट्रेक मंदाणी जाता है।
