I only had so much time with the pedal harp I'd hired when I visited Jake in April, but thankfully he also had a lever harp! So we made this cover in about three days while we were together. Admittedly I'd never heard Never Meant before we worked out this arrangement but I could immediately see how well it could work for harp and guitar, and naturally we spent quite a few hours puzzling over how to share out the drum parts between us and recreate them.

Jake threw me a curveball when he asked me to sing some backing vocals - I haven't done any singing in a long time, let alone singing and playing the harp, and I have never sung in a video on this channel before (aside from one track on my OoT album). Saying all of this, it was great to have a chance to try something new and be produced by a friend. Despite the intimidating fact that Jake is a much more accomplished singer than me, he was so encouraging and insisted that this part was important, and I should do it. I'm grateful to have a friend who challenges me, whilst also lifting me up - I absolutely would not have done this by myself! But it was a really positive experience.
