This session is designed for architects and senior platform engineers who already master cloud fundamentals and are facing the challenge of building systems that remain available in the face of regional outages, service disruptions, and infrastructure-level incidents.
Rather than focusing on disaster recovery through backup/restore operations, this talk deliberately focuses on Recovery Time Objective (RTO). We will explore how applications and data platforms behave during failover and failback scenarios, and how the underlying network and DNS foundations determine whether a failover is seamless or results in extended downtime.
Through concrete patterns and architectural trade-offs, attendees will gain practical insights into designing systems that recover fast, fail predictably, and maintain service continuity when it matters most.
