Today's video is a cage tour of my pet rats' Double Critter Nation. This is my boys' setup. They live in a double critter nation. I set the cage up horizontally instead of stacked vertically. I've noticed whenever I change things up that my rats prefer when the cage is lengthwise instead of up and down. They like to zoom across the cage from one side to the other. When the cage is set up vertically, they don't run as much. Instead, they just climb up and down, if that makes sense.
I use zip ties along the top, back, and bottom to join the two double critter nations together. There's no need to zip tie the front with the doors. They would just get in the way. I've never had a rat escape.
