Same file as previous Crystal videos. Since you catch Suicune under storyline related circumstances in Crystal, there are only two roaming Pokemon to catch.
This is not the original strategy I was going to use. I was burning a bit of time trying to encounter a Hoppip to boost in levels (but keep under 40) to put a roaming Pokemon to sleep with its very fast base speed. A better strategy is to use Mean Look with a fast Pokemon like Gengar, but it wasn't Night time yet, so I couldn't catch one until a little later, so another Jumpluff was just a temporary thing I was working on. The Jumpluff in my party is too high leveled to encounter Entei and Raikou while Repel is on, making the normal strategy troublesome with it.
However, while trying to encounter Hoppip, Entei appeared. Had I not been recording, I would've let it go (with the bonus of the Pokedex now being able to track it). But since I was recording I gave it a shot, especially since Jumpluff was the party-lead at the time. It ends up working out in part thanks to Whirlpool preventing Entei from being able to escape temporarily. I must stress Whirlpool is not reliable not just due to accuracy, but also because once it expires, it can escape again or Roar. But it worked as an impromptu catching attempt. Most of the luck here was the Ultra Ball working early enough. Entei's catch-rate is extremely low, but your chances are still higher than in Gen 1's Pokemon with the same catch rate due to the lack of the Miss % chance on thrown Pokeballs.
After Entei, I immediately do the normal strategy to try to initially encounter a roaming Pokemon without worrying about Mean Look or the alternative Jumpluff strategy, since there is only one left and I have a Master Ball, which was always intended to be used on Raikou specifically due to its base speed. While it seems I encounter Raikou rather quickly after, this strategy typically has players encountering a roaming Pokemon within 3-8 minutes. It's catching them without a Master Ball that makes catching these more infamous, especially in Gold/Silver where all three must be caught while roaming, rather than just two.
Treat this as more of a historical archive for the file, rather than a guide. There are many good videos/write-ups on how this works that would have been better than what I would've done had I didn't get lucky with Entei.
