Wastwater Landscape Photography plus, Thanks to Thomas Heaton
In this episode, I'm at Wastwater, Lake District National Park. I combine 2 visits to the beautiful Lake and create 1 great video!
Thomas Heaton. On a previous video • Landscape Photography at ISO 8000 and Meet... I mentioned about meeting Thomas Heaton at my Studio. Well, last Monday I hosted that night to a sell-out audience. Thomas, as you could imagine, was just excellent. 5-STAR reviews from Social Media.
I just want to take this opportunity to thank Thomas for launching my "UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL" themed night. Thank you

THIS VIDEO
Situated in the Wasdale Valley, Wastwater is 3 miles long, half a mile wide and 260 feet deep, and the deepest of all the lakes. Wastwater is perhaps the most awe-inspiring of all the lakes. Surrounded by mountains, Red Pike, Kirk Fell, Great Gable and Scafell Pike – England's highest mountain
In my opinion, it's by far the nicest to photograph out of them all. In this video, you'll see me photograph a small area of the Lake which I captured over two separate visits.
The first visit: I turned up simply to shoot the sun-setting. I arrived just 20 minutes before sunset without quite understanding just how magnificent the Lake actually was. The drive up to the lake alone just blew me away. I love the fact the mountain on the opposite side of the lake to the road simply sweeps down straight into the lake. Clearly, this land is untouched, and un-spoilt by mankind. It's probably remained as it is today for millions of years. It's just jaw-droppingly awesome. If you haven't been there to photograph it yet. You must!
Second Visit: My return trip was hindered by bad weather. The wind was just awful. The light wasn't much better either. I'm not too bothered about the cold but there's only so much you can take of minus 4 conditions. The wind chill factor probably added another 2 or 3 degrees to that too!
Either way, I soldiered on and shot enough to create this video. I hope you like it.
I fully intend to return again and again throughout 2018 at varying times of the day to photograph it more.
