Miniature Pyro Dinosaur Artform Movie Magic

Описание: We all love slowmo explosions! So many viewers have asked for a video like this, so here it is. Due to YouTube's TOS I can't detail how to make the miniature pyro used in this video. The model toy trains being destroyed are fake Thomas and Friends clone toys, so please don't get all upset I am destroying real Thomas toys. As I say in the video many times this is not an instructional video, it is purely a insight into some principals used in miniature pyrotechnics.

The humble party popper is something you need to understand before you dig deeper into this subject. It's actually a very clever explosive device.

The miniature helicopter door seen in this video comes from the model helicopter which was blown up for the film The Matrix. This helicopter now resides under my house. Maybe one day I will drag it out so you can see it and I can detail how this 1/4 scale model was blown up in the film.

Some requirements to be involved with pyrotechnics in the USA

Meet the age requirement. The American Pyrotechnics Association states that you must be at least 18 years old to work as a miniature pyrotechnics engineer. Check with your state laws because certain states won't allow you to work as a pyrotechnic professional until you turn 21 years old.

Attend pyrotechnic training courses and pass the tests. You can take miniature pyrotechnic engineering courses from fireworks display companies, local chapters of large pyrotechnic organizations, or by taking special-effects courses at local art institutes. By taking training courses, you'll gain hands-on experience and learn how to use large and small pyrotechnic devices, prevent fires and injuries, and learn about local laws. You also can fulfill your state's pyrotechnic engineer licensing requirements and those set by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

Pass a criminal background check and drug tests. In addition to this initial licensing screening, you may need to pass drug and alcohol tests throughout your apprenticeship, training and career.

Join a reputable special-effects company as a miniature pyrotechnics engineering apprentice. The amount of time it takes to complete an apprenticeship varies by state. During this time, you may need to assist in public fireworks displays or pyrotechnical sequences for productions. The APA states that an apprenticeship can last up to three years and require participation in six or more pyrotechnic displays.

Obtain a valid driver's license. If you're going to transport pyrotechnic or explosive materials, you'll need a commercial driver's license with a "hazmat" endorsement, according to the APA.

Get licensed as a pyrotechnic engineer at the appropriate state and federal levels. You may need to pass a knowledge test and submit letters of recommendation in order to receive a license to be a miniature pyrotechnic engineer.
