Squid Ink Pasta with Mussels MUKBANG + Recipe! All Black Pasta for Halloween! 🎃

Happy Halloween, everyone! I know, it's technically tomorrow -- close enough. I decided to celebrate by making some BLACK pasta! AKA Squid ink pasta in a chili garlic white wine sauce with mussels! Also, as you can see (hopefully), I've dressed as a witch for the occasion. Muahahahahaha!
Recipe:
Ingredients
500 g squid ink spaghetti ( I used this one https://piccolosgastronomia.com/produ... -- that's also where the giant fusilli is from!)
2 lb mussels, scrubbed/cleaned and beards removed
3 tbsp EVOO
3 tbsp butter (I use kerrygold)
4 cloves garlic, minced (use big ones, or several smaller ones)
1/2 tbsp calabrian chili pepper paste (or to taste, you can buy it here https://amzn.to/31YhaVB)
1 1/2 C sauvignon blanc (I used Layer Cake from NZ)
Salt n Peppa
Reserved pasta water
Fresh flat leaf parsley (about a half cup), chopped
Instructions:
1. melt butter and EVOO in large saucepan over medium/medium low heat, then add garlic and chili pepper paste.
2. Sautee for a few minutes, then add wine and season with salt. Bring to a simmer.
3. Add mussels and cover, allowing them to steam, for about 5 minutes, or until all have opened (any that have opened prior to cooking and any that don't open after cooking, disregard, they were dead before they went in the pan).
4. Remove the mussels and turn the heat up to reduce the sauce by half.
5. Add pasta cooked a minute or so under package directions and toss.
6. Add pasta water to add more sauce volume, check seasoning, then add mussels back and toss together.
7. Top with parsley and voila!
