Our day begins at the local Muslim market, where we sample fresh local snacks and soak in the atmosphere. We then try the famous bamboo coconut rice, a delicious Khmer specialty cooked inside bamboo over hot coals.

From there, we visit a Wat with a tragic history, where we learn about the atrocities that took place during Cambodia’s darkest years. It’s a sobering moment that reminds us just how resilient and strong the Cambodian people are.

To finish the tour on a lighter, fascinating note, we watch locals hand-craft traditional rice paper used for spring rolls — and even try a sip of cobra rice wine (yes… really!).
