Gregor Aichinger (1564 - 1628) è stato un organista e compositore tedesco.
Probabilmente allievo di Orlando di Lasso divenne nel 1581 organista ad Augusta.
Godette del mecenatismo dei Fugger e a loro spese studiò a Venezia con Giovanni Gabrieli e a Roma con Baldassarre Donato.
Tornato ad Augusta fu organista del Duomo e ivi morì di peste nel 1628.
Fu tra i primi a introdurre in Germania l'uso del basso continuo (Cantiones ecclesiasticae 1607) che aveva appreso in Italia.
Gregor Aichinger (1564 - 1628) was a German composer and organist. Probably pupil of Orlando di Lasso, in 1581 he became organist in Augusta.
He enjoyed the patronage of the Fugger and at their expenses studied in Venice with Giovanni Gabrieli and in Rome with Baldassare Donato.
Back to Augusta was the organist of the Cathedral and there died of the plague in 1628.
It was among the first in Germany to introduce the use of the basso continuo (Cantiones ecclesiasticae 1607), he had learned in Italy.
