John Lennon was one of the greatest musicians who ever lived. But he was a terrible father to his first son, Julian.

When Julian was born in 1963, John was 22 and unprepared. He was rarely home. When Julian was 5, John left him and his mother Cynthia for Yoko Ono. He barely saw Julian again.

But when Sean was born in 1975, everything changed. John quit music for five years to be a full-time father. He cooked for Sean. Played with him. Loved him completely. Everything he never gave Julian.

Paul McCartney showed Julian more love than his own father. Paul wrote "Hey Jude" for Julian when he was abandoned. Years later, Julian found out the song was about him—and cried, realizing Paul cared more than John ever did.

When John died in 1980, his will left $200 million to Sean and Yoko. Julian got almost nothing.
