The overhead console can be removed using only your fingers, a small flathead screwdriver, and a Phillips head screwdriver. After removing the 4 screws, pull back the plastic tabs on the front part of the plastic clips to release them. Then apply forward pressure on the plastic fin attached to the rear part of the clip while firmly pushing the console forward - this will release the rear edge of the clip. Carefully release one side at a time to avoid breakage.
When reassembling, pass the connectors for the sunroof control (where fitted) and interior light switch through the rearward hole in the console, before reattaching the console to the ceiling by the front clips. To properly attach the side screws, pass your finger through the console and press the plastic bracket down as you locate and turn the screw. Before attaching the rear screws, a 4 mm L-shaped hex key passed through the hole can apply enough downward pressure to the rear part of the plastic bracket to reattach the clips at the rear corners.
