Time After Time Soundtrack - Miklos Rozsa (1979)

Описание: The multi-Oscar winning Hungarian born composer Miklos Rozsa produced another magnificent score for this 1979 science fiction movie. Written and directed by Nicholas Meyer, who would go on to direct two Star Trek movies, Time After Time features Malcolm McDowell as the legendary British Science fiction author H G wells. The movie opens in late victorian England where it transpires that Wells is in possession of a real 'time machine' which he displays to his sceptical friends. Unbeknown to Wells however one of his close friends -- Dr John Stephenson -- is actually the infamous Victorian serial killer jack the ripper (played superbly by David Warner). Soon after being shown the time machine by his friend Wells Stephenson finds himself desperately fleeing the police and so breaks into Wells home and manages to start the machine, catapulting himself into the future -- to November 1979 in fact.

Realising just what a disaster this is Wells realises he has no alternative but to follow the infamous killer into the future. To his surprise however Wells finds himself not in late 1970s London but in a museum in the American west coast city of San Francisco where the original machine is still on display and which in fact is staging a HG Wells exhibition.

The remainder of this compelling movie centres on Wells efforts to bring 'jack the ripper' to justice and to stop him adding to his grisly list of victims, and in this Wells finds himself assisted by quirky bank clerk Amy Robbins (Mary Steenburgen). During the making of the movie McDowell and SteenBurgen fell in love and were married a year later.
