. (PATCHED don't use or you'll lose the souls) Dark Souls 3 Boss Souls Duplication Exploit for PS4, XBox & PC.. This can be done with any of the Boss Souls you acquire after defeating each boss. To reiterate, it's not easy at first. Beware that it will make finding pvp difficult due to level gap. Once you get the timing, it becomes simple. After you can start nailing the final four buttons within a split second (really really fast) which will happen once you gain the muscle memory, it's just a matter of figuring out when to start it during the parry animation. More often than not, you're probably starting it to soon and just need to delay a millisecond. Start it when the sheild reaches the opposite side right before your character lowers it. Took me 15 minutes to really become confident in my ability to pull it off regularly. Like anything Dark Souls, you'll fail many times before you succeed.

Michael Bass commented below how he get's it to work most of the time.
"I can now do this every time without fail, here's how.
first off, you can hold the down button during the entire thing it saves you a step.
second off you have to wait a little longer then the video is letting on, when you parry with the shield the animation goes as follows:

1) the character pulls the shield up to his body
2) then they swing the shield in the parry motion
3) then they drop the shield to their side.

After the swing right before or right as the shield is being dropped to the side is when you need to press the buttons. So the character pulls shield up, swings, input command after the swing has stopped shield lowers very soon after and it should work."

This method works, as it did with the original Dark Souls game (source material for this) and may or may not get patched. What's happening here is that you're using the boss soul (square) during a parry and then quickly opening your inventory (options button) selecting the Ashen Estus Flash (down on D pad) and selecting it (X button). If done correctly you will use the boss soul without it being consumed because we queued that up first (with square during parry) but the game is going to think we used the flask.

Make sure that you never select (YES) when it asks you to use the boss soul unless it was during the animation and the popup equipment/quick select box flashed on your screen otherwise you will lose the soul. As always, create a back up save file on external USB.
