A talk by Blair Mascal, Associate Professor, Ontario Institute for the Studies of Education, University of Toronto, Canada, at Azim Premji University
January 21, 2013
About the Topic
This presentation is based on a recent five-year study undertaken in the United States to establish empirical evidence about the link between what educational leaders do and how children learn. Part of the presentation will focus on the development of a conceptual model of the impacts of leadership on teachers and students. This will be followed by some discussion about leadership practices and who these leaders are. The evidence presented here will focus on how the sharing of leadership widely across a school seems to be linked to improved student achievement, by building teachers' capacity and their motivation.
