A few months ago I was invited to give a guest lecture at the University of Pittsburgh for Prof. Chris Wilmer's class CHE3460 - Advanced Scientific Visual Communication. At the last minute due to flight issues I didn't make it to give the in person lecture. As a result I can now share this recording with everyone covering the background of CGFigures, my thoughts on why proceduralism is a great 3D workflow for scientists, and my appeal to Chris' students and all of you to join the blender scientific community.
There are plenty of links to additional resources mentioned throughout this talk. I have included all of them here for convenience. Many thanks again to Prof. Wilmer for inviting me and I hope you enjoy the talk.
