The DuPont Country Club and Golf Course has a very rich history dating back to the 1880's. The Club itself was founded in 1920 by 3 groups of friends - The DuPont Gun Club, the DuPont Athletic Association and a few tennis players!

As the Club grew it's membership, changes were made to include a 9 hole golf course and 5 new tennis courts.

Architect Donald Ross built an 18 hole golf course to replace the 9 hole course in 1924. Mrs. George Copeland who owned an adjoining estate provided local stone for the new clubhouse that was being built (how nice!).

Add more tennis courts and an additional golf course in 1937.

Moving forward, Fun Things to do in Delaware - DuPont Country Club & Golf Course saw lots of growth in 1940 so the club was moved to it's current location near Rockland Road by 1946.

May 28, 1949, the new DuPont Country Clubhouse and golf course were dedicated...this new facility boasted a beautiful grand ballroom, dining areas and various meeting rooms. Locker rooms and lounges were also added.

The members were now enjoying 45 holes of golf on 3 separate courses and 16 tennis courts!

As the years passed, many changes have occurred only enhancing the beauty and popularity of this famously named Country Club and golf course.

In 2018, Ben DuPont and Don Wirth purchased the club from the DuPont Company and have since made great strides to transform the club to meet the needs of the local community and families therein.

Not long after the acquisition, construction was underway for the amazing 30 acre golf practice facility that includes a 4-acre short game area with 3 greens and 8 bunkers (nice job, gentelmen).

It is complete with an outdoor patio, multiple practice putting greens, a driving range and a 9,000 square foot indoor teaching academy with 6 hitting bays featuring TrackMan Technology.

They've added Pickleball to the various racquet sports with paddle courts in the future to come.

The new heated pool is a recent addition, as well and youngsters utilize the pool even in the winter months to prepare for their summer competitions!!!
