This release documents an improvised live process in which a Russian balalaika is treated not as a cultural symbol, but as a fragile signal source embedded in a chain of electronic hardware.
The performance is executed in real time, without edits or post-processing, allowing repetition, instability, and minor errors to remain audible as part of the structure rather than as defects.
The resulting sound is not aggressive, but tense and unsettled — shaped by feedback, decay, and sustained attention — where the balalaika’s acoustic presence is gradually absorbed into a mechanical environment that neither dominates nor decorates it.
This is not a hybrid of genres, but a focused transmission, where wood and metal coexist within the same signal path, producing a slow, anxious field of sound that resists resolution.
