Описание: On this episode of History Jacksonville, I talk about the history of our Buckman Bridge- a vital transportation link on Jacksonville's I-295 Beltway. I tell you about who Buckman was, take you over the southbound span (filmed January 12, 2017), and discuss the relevance of the bridge to my life growing up. Please note that the opening date of the Buckman Bridge is disputed because many people don't count the original date as the official opening date because: not long after opening there were concerns about the pilings having issues in the river water. The Florida DOT had to close the bridge and then reopen it once it was resolved.
