In order to move up in the world and be financially successful, you needed to have experience, skill, and good work ethic; however, there is one skill that will make or break how far you can go in life and that is "communication." How you communicate with other human beings is one of the most valuable skills because without good communication you are limited in how far you can go. In this video, I share 10 different communication skills that you need to master in order to be financially successful.

1. Understand The Power of Words

Words are one of the most powerful tools in the world and when you use them as a tool, they can allow you to accomplish many things in life. If you can master the art of words, you can get people to do what you want, respect you, and admire you. Understanding the power of words is a very important skill to be successful.

2. Have Good Verbal Communication

How you talk and the words you choose, will determine how someone responds to you. If you choose to speak in a way that is aggressive, you most likely will get aggressive responses from people; however, if you speak in a way that is calming and understanding, people will respond to you the same. It is important to master the skill of verbal communication so people will communicate back to you in a respectful way.

3. Have Good Storytelling Skills

Being honest in life often gets people in trouble. The honest truth is often boring and uneventful, which can make people unimpressed with you or even mad. It is important to not lie about the truth, but create a more interesting version of the truth because people will be more impressed with you leading you to more success.

4. Be A Pleasant Person

In the working world, experience and knowledge aren't the most important factors to being successful in your field. It is more important to be a pleasant person because if you are not pleasant to work with, then nobody will want to work with you. If you master the skill of being a positive, pleasant person, you will go much further in life.

5. Have Good Written Communication

Regardless of what job you do, you will always communicate with people in various written ways. If you do not have good written communication skills, people will not take you seriously or respect you; however, when you use proper grammar, people will respect you and hear you out more.

6. Be Genuine

The world is over saturated with people who are not genuine and try to be someone they aren't. This lack of genuineness hurts people in life because it turns people off on working with you. It is important to understand that people are smart and know when you're being fake. If you choose to be genuine in life, people will respect you more and want to help you grow.

7. Have Good Listening Skills

The best way to be heard is to listen first. When you listen to someone and be engaged into what they have to say, they will be more likely to listen to what you have to say. It is important to become a good listener so people will also listen to you.

8. Be Emotionally Intelligent

Many people lack the ability to control their emotions and be empathic towards others, which holds them back in life. When you learn how to control your emotions and have empathy, you have a high emotional intelligence. When you master the skill of emotional intelligence, people respect you more in life.

9. Stand Up For Yourself

Although having good communication is about getting other people to like you, it isn't about being a suck up and trying to please people. It is important to have a balance and stand up for yourself in life so people do not walk all over you. Respect people and have them respect you.

10. Gain Trust

Trust is the most valuable human commodity on Earth. When people trust you, the want to work with you and help you grow, which ultimately allows you to achieve financial success in life. It is important to master the skills of communication because when you do, doors open and opportunities become endless.
