P. Chidambaram Defends ‘Regime Change’ Remark | BJP Targets Opposition Over Electoral Democracy

Описание: Congress leader P. Chidambaram has defended the phrase regime change, describing it as a normal feature of democracy as the Bharatiya Janata Party intensifies its criticism of opposition leaders. The controversy erupted following remarks by senior advocate Prashant Bhushan, who termed the campaign on electoral democracy a fight for regime change. While the BJP alleged an attempt to destabilise the Narendra Modi government, the opposition rejected the claim. The row also surrounds the election commissioner's voter list revision exercise, which critics have questioned over the deletion of voters.
