My Charge Amps Ray EVSE gave up the ghost after four-and-a-half years of service due to water ingress, so I've taken the opportunity to do a teardown and find out what's inside, and the extent of the water damage. I don't think (at the time of writing) there are any other photos or videos online of the insides of this model.
This EVSE was sold to me by a New Zealand vendor who swapped out the European plug for a New Zealand caravan plug. I am not sure if they opened the IC-CPD (the control box inline with the cord) or not, but if they did it might explain how water got in, and take the blame off Charge Amps.
I certainly don't expect the J1772 plug was ever opened so I'd put its water ingress down to either a design flaw or a faulty seal on this particular unit.
