Welcome to my mini series! I will be posting one macrame knot or knot pattern a day for the month of February 2019.
Day 18: Gathering Knot
Today we are focusing on the gathering knot. This is a great knot to use at the top of plant hangers, to use for tassels or for the bottom of key chains.
Grab an additional piece of string (approx. 2 ft or 60 cm) and make a loop. Wrap the same piece of string around the loop at least 3 times.
Take the end of the rope that you’ve wrapped and pull it through the loop.
Pull the strand at the bottom of the loop. Pull it tight enough so that the strand at the top is pulled into the wrapped section.
Cut both strands.
Cut the strand at the top and then pull on the strand at the bottom to hide the end at the top. Cut the strand at the bottom and tuck the end into the wrapped section.
