Today’s one is going to be quite important especially for any of you out there that are part of the cancel Cambridge International exam movement for 2021 #cancelcieexams2021


This is clearly affecting a lot of you psychologically and mentally so I thought instead of just making a video I’m going to step up and try and give you all a solution


Cambridge in their last update on 19th February outlined that for the small number of countries and regions within countries where it is impossible to go ahead with exams these students will be having evidence gathered to determine them with a teacher assessed grades.

There are a significant number of things that differs from last year. For example: schools can only base their judgement of the candidates achievements on demonstrated achievement only and not on speculation.
So they cannot speculate whether a student would have gone on to do better if it wasn’t for the pandemic or what not. Centres will identify a portfolio of 3 pieces of work for student

And the types of evidence includes:

Past papers

Coursework

Mock exams or questions used as tests

Essays / practical tasks / assignments etc



Cambridge have also specified that quality assurance checks will also take place and likewise this is also what Ofqual have stated here in the UK and this means that centres will have to show the evidence and this is what is the major difference between 2021 and 2020 in the sense that all of the evidence will be submitted to the examining boards and justifications made as to why students received the grades that they have - so this could potentially be one of the reasons schools would prefer exams to take place since the teacher assessed pathway involved a hell of a lot more work then exams do. As I've just specified the grades will be very much dependent on what you have previously demonstrated or what you can demonstrate in the coming weeks as this is how your grades will be formulated.

So here is my solution:

I am planning on physically writing to Cambridge International. I am going to include every single one of you in the letter so that when I sign it off I will have all of your names alongside it to say that you guys want exams cancelled.

In this letter I will explain the difficulties some of you have faced with school closures since last year.

I will talk about how by having exams cancelled in one region like the uk where school closures have not occurred to the extent as other places how that leads to unfairness and inequality amongst the outcomes
And I will also discuss how the uncertainty complex will lead to a downturn in students performances
