Hello, neighbor, Steven here again with etrailer.com. Let's take a look today at our Blue Ox TrackPro weight distribution system with sway control. 11-hole shank, 6,000 pounds gross trailer weight rating or 600 pounds tongue weight rating. Now, if you are new to camping, trailering, whatnot, basically, your weight distribution system here is gonna ensure a level and stable ride. So it's gonna prevent sagging and that kinda stuff. It's gonna distribute the weight evenly over the axles of your tow vehicle and the camper, trailer, or whatnot.

It's gonna have a built-in sway control, like I mentioned, and that's gonna help eliminate those sudden bursts from like semis passing you, the wind that would maybe push you a little bit, those kinda things, maybe some potholes and stuff. That's gonna help keep you straight and keep you from swiveling or fishtailing back and forth. The head itself has a nice pitched design, and that's gonna help you, you know, have the right angle from the start when you're installing this. Some other brands out there, you gotta stack washers behind the head, you gotta keep getting your angle, you know, adjusted. With Blue Ox, you don't have to worry about that.

It's set up. It's already ready to go, and that makes it really easy to use and a lot faster to get installed. Now coming up here to the shank, it is made for a two-inch by two-inch hitch receiver tube. You wanna make sure that your hitch is rated for use with a weight distribution system. So check your manufacturer of the hitch.

Make sure that it's rated for that. Possibly, your manufacturer's sticker on your hitch might give you that information, but it's not always there. It does come with the hitch pin and clip. It has a max drop of three inches. And if you flip the shank over and remount the head to that in that position, you can have a rise of up to 17 inches.

This particular ball's a 2 5/16-inch ball. Now I wanna grab one of these L-brackets here and mounting brackets and show you this up close while I got the frame here. So your frame's gonna mount in here up to six inches tall trailer frames. It's got the built-in L-bracket, and it's got the spring retaining clip here. So your spring wire would go in there. This will keep it from popping out. Now, while I'm up here, I also wanna point out it does have a built-in grease zerk on the head of the trunnion bars themselves. That's gonna help the pivoting and everything that you need, keep it free, and just give you a nice smoother ride, smooth transition as it's doing the weight distributing. It is a no-drill, clamp-on style, like I mentioned a few minutes ago. You don't have to worry about drilling into your trailer frame. It's gonna accommodate with things, such as like your gas tank, battery boxes, toolboxes, generators. This should pretty much mount in a way that you don't have to worry about those getting in the way. From the top of the ball back to where this bracket's gonna mount on your frame, this unit is set up to be between 20 to 25 inches back from the center of this ball. Please keep it in that safe range. Don't try to smudge it and go a little shallower or a little deeper on the frame. Keep it within that 20 to 25 inches. That's for your safety, and that's for what this system is designed for to use safely. It is gonna come with a spring bar tool, the manufacturer instructions, and a couple of D-rings or chain links. That way, you can put your safety chains on. Now, the spring bar tool, as you can see, has the groove and the hook in here. You'd simply put it underneath your bar, and you'd use it as a pivot point and pivot it up onto your L-brackets to put it in place. (tool thumping) Now, what I found to do when doing that is, you got your trailer or camper mounted on your ball. Keep some of that tension on your jack. That way, it's less spring tension that you're fighting. 'Cause remember, these are rated particularly up to 600 pounds on this unit. So you don't wanna be pushing a full 600 pounds if you don't have to. So use that jack to help you out a little bit. That's a nice little trick of the trade there.
