Renting gravel bikes, riding in snow and mud (California-level snow, to be clear), accidentally finding single track, and learning quickly that NWA doesn’t mess around.

This wasn’t a perfectly planned cycling trip. It was a real ride with wrong turns, new friends, cold fingers, muddy shoes, a crash, and post-ride hot chocolate. The kind of day that reminds you why adventure riding keeps pulling you back.

As a triathlete who mostly lives on pavement, gravel riding in Northwest Arkansas pushed me out of my comfort zone — and maybe opened the door to a new kind of racing.
