Rajya Sabha polls: Setback for BJP as Congress wins three seats in Rajasthan

Описание: The Congress was able to get all its three candidates elected in Rajasthan. Congress’s third candidate Pramod Tiwari got the better of media baron Subhash Chandra. The BJP transferred its surplus vote to Subhash Chandra. Some independents and smaller parties also backed Chandra. But in the end it was clearly not enough and BJP was left licking its wounds. BJP MLA Shobha Rani Kushwaha cross-voted in favour of the Congress. She has been suspended by the BJP.
