I fell out with this drum build quality of the shell wasn't great ...over priced .
I rebuilt it with my own shell as a 13" .
I did a better job of drilling it than sonor did ...shame on you sonor
Basic test ,damper rings
(head change away from stock head to a single ply coated then back to center dot) ect, wire tensions at different settings
It is quite a crisp drum but odd sounds do creep in from the wires.
Only having 8 strands it works best up tight,a slack setting soon loses all the snare sound.
High tension on the wires raise the tuning because they are pushing into the head.
not a lot of snare sound at the edges due to the wire being very short
The CS reverse dot is a drastically different sound to the outer drum
so best stay center drum.
Drum seems to be a lot more mellow with a normal snare head
Crisp snare that can sound quite big..but it is a fussy snare drum to set up.
I'd go for a normal snare wire on this and change the top head.
