First and foremost, let's get this out of the way. When it comes to budget pedals, it's generally a case of a pedal being good... for the price. The Joyo JF-01 is a completely different beast. It is just a genuinely good pedal and it just so happens that it can be picked up for a very reasonable amount of money.

The JF-01 stays very true to its inspiration. It can be powered by a standard 9V battery or Boss-style adapter. The green aluminum-alloy enclosure features control knobs for Drive, Tone, and Volume. Joyo has also included true bypass, which in recent years has become quite a popular modification in modern Tube Screamer clones.

Inside, the Joyo JF-01 uses the famous RC4588 op-amp, which provides that signature warm, overdriven sound Tube Screamers are known for. Especially through my Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier's red channel, it adds warmth, depth, and punch, effectively breathing new life into the amp.
