My first full track day in the Novice group at my local Knockhill circuit. Riding my Suzuki GSX-R 750 K8, gearing changed from my last outing. This made a big difference and helped the performance and allowed the bike to rev and accelerate faster, even pulling some wheelies over the start straight, which it wasn't doing under the standard set up.
Lap times were more or less the same as my previous days riding, and I can now see the areas of the track which I can find improvements to reduce.
Met some really nice and also helpful people who were open to offer advice and share experiences.
Unknown to me at the time, former 1990 race winner Iain McPherson was out in my group showing his son around the track, on reflection I thought he was a very experienced rider, smooth and fast.
Now looking forward to my next outing in July.
