Douglas utilizes Fanuc robots to accomplish a variety of secondary packaging goals. The robots collate the pack pattern for trays and tubs, picking them and placing them vertically into display trays, which are push loaded into an erected sleeve and loaded into cases.

Round cups and cans can also be picked and placed in a similar manner. Pouches can be packaged in a variety of ways, including push loading the appropriate pattern into ideal display cases, which are sent downstream to a three-in, three-out palletizing system.

Vane conveyors can index and package pouches in multiple pack patterns in pre-erected trays, which are then push loaded into erected cases and transferred to the case packer infeed and loaded into wraparound cases.

Products like cups and cans can also be properly oriented to be ready for display trays, with stacks picked and loaded into trays and, subsequently, cases.

For this tubs with lids application, four separate lanes are used to snap lids onto tubs, which are then fed into cases in a 2x2x2 pack pattern.

SCARA pin metering creates a 12-pack pattern into a tray. A layer pad is placed on top with another 12-pack pattern placed on top. The tray is then sent through the shrink tunnel for film.

Finally, large bags of food are accommodated thanks to our efficient case erector and drop-in style insertion before the case is closed.
