Описание: Since the public release of ChatGPT in November 2022, the field of education has, somewhat reluctantly, embarked on a dialogue—both literal and speculative—with generative AI (GenAI) applications, which are built on large language models (LLMs). Initially, the focus was on banning its use, followed by efforts to manage and control it. This has led to attempts to fit GenAI within existing educational practices, effectively trying to domesticate this powerful tool, albeit with mixed success. It’s likely that the integration of GenAI into gifted education will follow a similar trajectory, oscillating between an over-hyped vision of future possibilities and a conservative effort to contain and control its use. In this session, we will engage in a human-mediated conversation about the intersection of GenAI and gifted education. We’ll explore the common questions and challenges that arise when these two areas converge. When GenAI is applied to any task, it necessitates complementary skills and knowledge from the user—whether gifted or not. Some of these are universal, but others are highly specific to the individual. A key takeaway is that any sound educational approach involving GenAI requires a collaborative co-development process that includes the teacher, the gifted student, and the AI itself.
