When public places trigger your OCD - go there MORE often.
Sounds backwards? That's the point.
Example: Toy aisle triggers you?
Go to that store daily
Walk up and down that aisle repeatedly
Practice relaxing while triggered
Let the thoughts happen without compulsions
Eventually, your brain learns: "Oh wait, they're the boss here. They're not listening to my panic."
The urges, feelings, and scary thoughts start fading.
To beat public triggers = be in those places more often WITHOUT doing compulsions.
It's called exposure therapy, and it works 💪
