Описание: U.S. President Donald Trump has unveiled a dramatic proposal to raise America’s defence spending to an unprecedented $1.5 trillion in 2027, warning that the world is entering an era of growing instability and danger. If approved by Congress, the plan would represent a more than 50 percent increase over current defence levels and become the largest military budget in U.S. history.

Trump said the decision followed discussions with lawmakers and was necessary to build what he described as America’s “Dream Military.” The announcement comes just days after U.S. forces captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in a high-stakes overseas operation, underscoring Trump’s increasingly aggressive foreign policy posture.

In a move that rattled markets, Trump also warned defence contractor Raytheon that future Pentagon contracts could be cut off if the company continues stock buybacks instead of investing in weapons manufacturing. Following the remarks, shares of major defence firms fell sharply.

Trump claimed the massive spending hike could be funded largely through tariff revenues, which he says are already generating nearly $200 billion annually. He also hinted that tariffs could help reduce national debt and fund future payouts to American citizens, though details remain unclear.
